About the SF People & Pay Sandbox

The Sandbox reflects data and development work our team had completed as of January 7, 2020, and will be available through Friday, April 10, 2020. Please note that the SF People & Pay team continues to fine-tune our homepages, tiles, and Navigation Collections, so what you see in the Sandbox may not necessarily reflect what you will see when the PeopleSoft Update goes live on March 30, 2020.

You may even experience some bugs in the Sandbox, which have already resolved in the database that will go live on March 30, 2020. Below are examples of bugs in Position Administration.

SCENARIO

SANDBOX BUG

WORKAROUND

Accessing Position Administration tile using Microsoft Edge

Error message displays:

“Unable to load Dashboard …”

Use Chrome or Firefox when accessing Position Administration

Submitting a newly created position

When the user clicks the Submit button at the end of the position creation process, a prompt appears asking the user to confirm submission.  Even if the user clicks the Yes button, the system will not submit and save the created position

There is no workaround available in the Sandbox.  When the update is live, the system will save the new position and bring the user to the Position Confirmation page

Updating the attributes of a filled position

A warning message appears stating changes will update the position’s compensation frequency

Click the Yes button.  Compensation frequency will not be impacted, and the system will bring you to the Position Confirmation page.  This message will not appear when the update is live.

Updating the attributes of a vacant position

A warning message appears stating the incumbents flag should be turned off for vacation positions

Click the Yes button, as this message is not applicable to our process.

The system will bring you to the Position Confirmation page.  This message will not appear when the update is live.

Exiting in the middle of creating a new position or updating an existing position

PeopleSoft labeled back buttons do not work in the Sandbox when exiting in the middle of creating or updating a position.  The user is led into a loop without being able to go back to the main Position Administration page.

Click the Home icon on the upper right-hand corner. You will return you to the default homepage and can re-navigate to access the Position Administration tile.

When the update is live, this loop will not occur, as clicking the Position Administration tile will open in a new window.  You’ll always have Workforce Administration open in the original window and can easily return to this homepage if you decide to exit in the middle of the creation or update of a position.
