Description: How data are interpreted can shape the design of public policies, programs, and people’s experiences. Dashboards, evaluations, audits and stories of success are often used as evidence to make decisions, but can negatively nudge our behavior towards meeting the success metric instead of the intended results. We can also feel limited in asking critical questions of our relationship with data and the processes surrounding it. This interactive, online workshop introduces a data experience diagnostic that applies equity-centered design to improve the way success is measured and used on projects, teams and across departments.
