While the Controller’s Systems Division processes Mass Salary Updates for salary step employees, Departments are responsible for updating pay rates and Additional Components of Pay for Municipal Executive Association (MEA) and other non-salary step employees. Follow the steps below to complete department tasks for managing their pay rate changes.

Part I. Follow the steps below to identify your MEA and other non-salary step employees, and determine if they have Additional Components of Pay.

1. Run the MRG_HR0210_EE_DEPT_SAL_BASE query for a list of your department employees and their salary information, and export the results to an Excel or a csv file.

2. Filter the Sal Plan column to select employees under Salary Plans:

* '0000' (Excel) or '0' (csv) = Non-salary step employees

* '0004' (Excel) or '0' (csv) = MEA employees

3. The MRG_HR0210_EE_DEPT_SAL_BASE query also includes Additional Components of Pay information. Employees with differing rates between the rates under the Base and Blended Rate columns have Additional Components of Pay. You can also run and compare results from the MRG_HR_EE_ADDL_PAY query.

Use the information above and proceed to Part II of this solution article to update pay rate and Additional Components of Pay for your MEA and other non-salary step employees.

Part II. Update your MEA employee’s pay rate and Additional Components of Pay

8. Click the Search button

9. Select the Salary Grade

10. Click the Save button

11. Add a comment in the Notepad to indicate that the ‘Data Change/Update Job Data’ transaction was added to process the MEA employee’s pay rate change, and to adjust the employee’s Additional Component of Pay. You have reached the end of the process.
