Provides instructions on how to add initial, view or update federal income tax withholding information (Form W-4). A link to the IRS, W-4, and instructions is provided on the W-4 Withholding Certificate page.
Follow the instructions below to update your federal income tax withholding information (Form W-4).
You can find the W-4 Withholding Certificate page through the My Pay tile on your SF My Hub homepage. From the My Pay tile, click the Tax Withholding link and you'll reach the W-4 Withholding Certificate page.
Under the Step 1: Personal Information section:
A. Verify Social Security number is correct (Note: Employees must contact their Department Payroll unit regarding their Social Security number if incorrect)
B. Verify Home Address is correct (Note: It cannot be updated on this page, contact Department HR if incorrect)
C. Select the Filing Status, i.e., Single, Married filing separately/jointly, Head of Household, etc. (Note: Employees must contact their Department Payroll unit if their Social Security number or Home Address is incorrect. They cannot be updated on the W-4 Withholding Certificate page.)
Complete the sections under Steps 2 through Step 4. If applicable, complete the Claim Exemption from Withholding.
Step 5. Click the Submit button.
Step 6. Enter your City-Wide Active Directory (CWAD) password and click Continue for added security. If you experience password issues, please visit MyApps to change your password and return to SF My Hub to access W-4 tax information. If the issue persists, please contact your department IT unit to seek their assistance with your CWAD credentials.
Note: If the Verify Identity window does not load, make sure your browser settings allow cross-site tracking, cookies, pop-ups and redirects as well as clear your cache. Your local department MIS/IT Support team can also assist you if you need additional assistance.
Step 7. Click the Submit button, and you will arrive on the Submit Confirmation page to let you know that your changes have been submitted successfully.
