This solution article provides instructions on how to view or update your California state income tax withholding information (CA Form DE4) so your employer can withhold the correct California state income tax from your pay.


Follow the instructions below to update your California state income tax withholding information (CA Form DE4). 


You can update your California state income tax withholding information by clicking the My Pay tile on your SF My Hub homepage. From the My Pay tile, expand the Tax Withholding folder and select the CA State Tax DE4 link. 








Step 1. In the Personal Information section, verify the following information:


  • Name - Please contact your Department Human Resources team if you see inaccurate information.
  • Address - If this information is incorrect, you can update this information by following the instructions in our How to view and update your home and mailing address solution article. 
  • Social Security Number - If your Social Security Number is incorrect, please contact your Departments Payroll unit. Please be ready to present your Social Security card or receipt.
  • Filing Status - Update this information directly on the page as needed


Step 2. Click the 2025 State DE4 & Worksheets link for information on how to update your withholding information in Sections 1 through 4.


Step 3. Review your updates and click the Submit button to proceed.






Step 4. For added security, the Verify Identity window will appear and prompt you to enter your Citywide Active Directory (CWAD) password. 


  • If the Verify Identity window does not appear, make sure your browser settings allow cross-site tracking, cookies, pop-ups and redirects as well as clear your cache. Your local department MIS/IT Support team can also assist you if you need additional assistance.


  • If the Verify Identity window appears, but you experience password issues, please visit MyApps to change your password and return to SF My Hub to retrieve your CA Form DE4 information.  If the issue persists, please contact your department IT unit to seek their assistance with your CWAD credentials.


Step 5. Click the Continue button to proceed.





Step 6. Click the Submit button, and you will arrive on the Submit Confirmation page to let you know that your changes have been submitted successfully.
