The following Solution Article provides steps users will need to delete and download the new uploader files and to double check their setting.
(Interim) Downloading New Journal Spreadsheet Entry and Uploader – September 2025
Beginning Monday, September 8, 2025, departments must adopt the new General Ledger (GL) Journal Spreadsheet Uploader files attached to the bottom of this solution article, and follow the steps as outlined below. Note that previous versions downloaded and submitted after 12 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025 are invalid and will result in an error. Hence, you must delete any previous versions of the GL Uploader prior to downloading the new ones below.
- Delete previous GL Uploader files from your computer as they will no longer be valid with SF Financials moving to Oracle Cloud.
- Download all four GL Spreadsheet Uploader files attached to the bottom of this solution article. You must download all 4 new files for the new GL Uploader to function properly. Save the four files to your local or personal network drive in a NEW dedicated folder (for example, “GL_Uploader_2025”). Do not save in OneDrive.
The four required files:
JRNL1_WS.xlsm
JRNLMCRO_WS.xlam
GLLOG.xlt
JrnlLog.xlsx
- Check and ensure the filenames of the four files match the above list.
EACH FILENAME NEEDS TO BE 100% MATCH TO ABOVE- If the filenames or file extension type changes (see example screenshots below), contact your Department IT for a workaround to downloading macro-enabled files and ensure it downloading doesn’t rename the file or change the file extension.
- If the filenames or file extension type changes (see example screenshots below), contact your Department IT for a workaround to downloading macro-enabled files and ensure it downloading doesn’t rename the file or change the file extension.
Example Screenshot 1: Here the file extension has been overwritten to xlsx when it should be JRNL1_WS.xlsm and JRNLMCRO_WS.xlam
Example Screenshot 2: Here the JRNLMCRO_WS file extension and the filename has been updated. It has the word “cleaned” in the filename and the macros are scrubbed and converted the file to .xlsx.
- If the files match to Step 2 above, proceed to Step 4.
- Before opening JRNL1_WS.xlsm template, unblock the macro security for ALLfour files.
- Right click JRNL1_WS.xlsm

check the Unblock box. Press Apply and OK. - If there is no Security section, the file should be currently unblocked. No further action is needed and go to the next step.
- Repeat above steps i. to iii. for each of the remaining three files (JrnlLog.xlsx, JRNLMCRO_WS.xlam, GLLOG.xlt)
- After all four files are unblocked, open JRNL1_WS.xlsm. If prompted, click the button “Enable Macro.”
- Right click JRNL1_WS.xlsm
5. Open JRNL1_WS.xlsm
6. On the HomePage, click the Setup & Defaults and confirm highlighted Address matches: https://con-fin.sf.gov/.
