Welcome to your Expenses homepage where you can create, modify, and review your requests for Expense Authorizations, Expense Reports, and Cash Advances.  Read the sections below to learn about the tiles and features available on your Expenses homepage.

What you'll find on your Expenses homepage





Across the very top of your Expenses homepage is a blue Banner that contains:

  • Top Left - branding logos for our SF Financials and SF Procurement systems, which is where your Expenses homepage reside
  • Top Right - you'll find the following icons:
    • Home icon that allows you to return to your Expenses default homepage. 
      • If you are an SF Financials or SF Procurement Power User, please see the Notes for Power Users section of this article.
    • Notifications icon that alerts you of system messages
    • Action List or hamburger menu that allows you to sign out or open a new window

Directly below the blue Banner, you'll find the Expenses homepage level and for Power Users, features that allow them to switch to different homepages. If you are an SF Financials or SF Procurement Power User, please see the Notes for Power Users section of this article.

  • Left - Expenses homepage label. For Power Users, this is also the Homepage Selector that allows them to move from the Expenses homepage to another homepage.
  • Right - Available only to Power Users, is the Homepage Navigator that allows them to switch from one homepage to another.



Tiles to data and transactions


Your Expenses homepage contains tiles that will take you to pages that allow you to create, modify, and review your requests for Expense Authorizations, Expense Reports, and Cash Advances . While some tiles take you to a single page where you can complete a specific type of transaction, others will take you to a page that holds a Navigation Collectio(Nav Collection) of pages that permit you to move from one page to another to view and complete functionally similar transactions. For example the Nav Collection for viewing active expense reports allow you to view the information through different pages based on status. 


Below is a list of tiles that are available to all employees and a brief description of the tiles. For step-by-step instructions on the features available under these tiles, please see our Expense Reimbursements, Cash Advances, and Travel Authorizations solution articles.

  The Approvals tile takes you to a page to view and approve pending expense requests.

  The Create Expense Report tile takes you to a page where you can create a new Expense Report.

  The Active Expense Reports tile takes you to a page where you can view active Expense Reports that have been returned, have not        been submitted, are awaiting approval or pending payment.

IconAI-generated content may be incorrect.  The Tuition Balance Report tile takes you to your Tuition Balance Report, which contains information about your Expense                  Authorization requests, your own personal available funds, and your union’s remaining amount.

  The Request/Modify Cash Advance tile takes you to a page where you can create and manage Cash Advance requests.

Notes for Power Users 

These additional notes are applicable to SF Financials and SF Procurement Power Users, who use our systems on a daily basis to perform their core tasks and activities.

You must log in inside the City network to access our systems as a Power User. If you are logged in internally, your core homepage, Financial or Procurement, remains as your default homepage.  See the image below for more information about internal vs. external login.
